Licensure Exam for Teachers: Five Tips To Help You Prepare

Teachers are noble creatures, our ultimate purpose is to ensure that the next generation will be guided and they will achieve greater things. That is why one part of the qualifications of being a teacher is to have a teaching license or credentials.

Here in the Philippines, the Licensure exam for teachers is an event. The Philippine Commission Regulation Office conducts the exam. Take it from me the exam was difficult, I failed twice, before on my third take I was able to pass.

Disclaimer: All of my posts are for entertainment purposes only. All of this is base on my real-life teaching experience. I just want people to find a relatable topic; please do not come for me.

So without further ado, here is the thing I have done for the exam:

1. Review for the exam

Review! Review! Review! Regardless of how freshly graduated you are or how experienced as a teacher you are studying for the exam is crucial. Do not rely only on what you know, learn more.

2. Practice Teaching

Before filling to take the exam I recommend you teach first, one part of the exam is professionalism, and the majority of the items are situational. As a teacher, we could not answer a question we haven't experienced yet. Experience is important for a teacher.

3. Take up mock exams/activities related to the exam

After reviewing, put your mastery and learning to the test. There are online and printable materials that give out the feel of the exam so take it. Analyze your result and review more on details you need to focus on.

4. Learn about new and current events

Always be up to date with the economical, political, and global changes and enhancement in the education field. It is very important to ensure that you are caught up on the latest trends.

5. Rest, Prepare and Believe

Three days or a week before the eventful exam. I recommend you take a breather. Consciously reset your perspective and believe in yourself.

Being a teacher is all about our goal to educate our students. No piece of card or certificate can change that, but in a world where being credible is the basis, let us work our way on gaining more experience, and our license.
